Thunder end Denver's eight-game win streak

01/29/2010 -
Oklahoma City, OK (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Kevin Durant poured in 30 points for his
16th 30-point game in his last 20 contests, and the Oklahoma City Thunder
rolled to a 101-84 win over the Nuggets, snapping Denver's eight-game win
streak.
Durant shot a very efficient 12-of-19 from the field for the Thunder, who had
lost three straight and played this game despite a nasty ice storm that
plagued the local area. Jeff Green added 15 points, while Russell Westbrook
had 12 points and eight assists in the lopsided win.
James Harden also had 12 points, and Nick Collison had 10 for Oklahoma City,
which forced 23 turnovers and shot 51.9 percent.
Chauncey Billups tallied 19 points and seven assists to lead the Nuggets, who
had not lost since January 9 at Sacramento but played without Carmelo Anthony
(ankle) for a third straight game. J.R. Smith added 18 points on five three-
pointers, Kenyon Martin 13 with nine rebounds and Arron Afflalo 11 in the
loss.
Denver shot just 40.3 percent from the field and scored just 20 points in the
paint, compared to 54 for the Thunder.
The Thunder led by six at halftime and quickly extended their advantage with a
big third quarter.
Thabo Sefolosha's steal and subsequent dunk capped six straight points that
put the hosts in front, 61-52, and Oklahoma City held Denver scoreless for the
final 3:20 of the quarter, scoring nine straight points during the stretch.
Durant's reverse layup with three minutes left put the margin at 12, 72-60,
and a Harden free throw with 32.2 ticks left sent the Thunder into the fourth
holding a commanding 79-60 advantage.
The lead grew to as high as 22 in the final period.
The two teams played close in the first quarter, and a Collison hook shot put
the Thunder ahead, 27-26, after 12 minutes.
The game was tied, 41-41, late in the second quarter, when a Nenad Krstic
three-point play and Green three-pointer boosted Oklahoma City to a six-point
lead, which held up through halftime, 51-45.
Game Notes
The season series is tied, 1-1, after the Thunder snapped a five-game losing
streak to Denver...Nuggets head coach George Karl was named the head coach of
the Western Conference All-Stars after Lakers head coach Phil Jackson was
ineligible due to the fact that he served in the post last season. It will be
the fourth time Karl has been the head coach at the All-Star Game and first
with the Nuggets...The Thunder finished a four-game homestand with a 1-3 mark.

Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament odds
As of February 9, MySportsbook.com has released its coveted 2007 Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament betting odds. “March Madness betting ” only a month away, the top ranked Florida Gators are favorite at 7-2 to win it all. The defending champs have not disappointed at all this season and currently have a 22-2 record and are undefeated (9-0) in SEC play. The Gators’ thrive off of their extremely balanced, experienced and versatile attack. All five starters started in last seasons National Championship game. What is most impressive with this group is their balance; the five starters all average between 10.7 and 13.6 PPG. The Gators have been on an absolute roll having won 15 straight by an average of 16.4 PPG.
Right behind the Gators are the 5th ranked UNC Tar Heels at 9-2. The Heels (21-3, 7-2) are absolutely loaded with top notch talent and are as deep as any team in the country. A concern for the Tar Heels might be inexperience. Of their top four scorers/ minute earners, three are freshmen and the other is a sophomore. The rest of the regular season, the Tar Heels play only one team that is currently ranked (Duke). Their remaining opponents do combine for an impressive 107-58 record though.
Other teams that the MySportsbook.com members seem to believe will win it all include the west coasts’ top team #2 UCLA (6-1), #3 OSU behind man-child Greg Oden (8-1), and #4 Wisconsin (10-1) behind their defense which has given up 70+ points only three times all season.
Below is a list of some of the favorites to win the 2007 Men’s NCAA Basketball Championship lines. For the full list of teams and March Madness odds be sure to log onto MySportsbook.com.
